Trip to Utah

Saturday night Debra, Kellen, Jenny, Hunter, Carson, Coby & Trey made a trip down to Utah to watch Emyrie dance. She did a WONDERFUL job and we all smiled alot! That night Davey, Emyrie and the boys spent the night in the camper and had a great time. Execpt when they came in the house at 7AM and played XBOX. There was no more sleeping after that :). On the way home we had to stop at Red Rock Pass and make a run up the hill. It was a great weekend thank you Lexie & Davey for letting us stay.

A great looking chocolate cake and a great zone lunch from the missionaries started my 2nd birthday in the mission field off well. Sorry this has been so long is publishing I was having trouble downloading pictures off of our camera. I so appreciated all of the calls from home it made being away from home easier. The girls upstairs decorated my door, they are so sweet and then all the young men that hang around brought me flowers and stayed to have their picture taken. I should of turned the picture before I downloaded it but you can get the idea that the door was cute and now that I am 56 I can't stand for long so I lay on my back!!

Thought you might like to see what a great looking District we have even those gray haired missionaries are sharp,(well maybe cute) The two standing behind us and the one setting next to Dad are some of the Portuguese Missionaries. You have seen them a lot since they never leave this area. Elders Rawson, Rabelo, and Bolster. The other two are Chinese missionaries and the shorter one is Brian Purcell's brother-in-law.(small world isn't it). Elders Clift and Tjoeng(he is from Tiawan).

Dad thought that this fast food Chinese place would be the perfect place for missionaries to eat because it was holy chow(funny huh). We stopped and gave it a try and it was really pretty good now we just have to get all the missionaries there to eat holy chow!!

Sidy's Baptisim

Sidy is from Brazil and you can see how happy all the Portuguese missionaries, Zone Leaders and the Ward Mission leaders are, we have been praying for this day for months.

We have had the opportunity to work with Sidy for the past 8 months. We have become her white parents. She hardly ever missed a FHE or church some members of the ward thought she was already baptized. She is such a sweet girl but was so dedicated to her church. We knew that one day she would be baptized but we didn't know if we would be around to see it. So this past Wednesday when she called the Elders and said I'm ready the entire ward cheered

Here is the support she had at her baptism. This really is a great ward. Everyone was excited!!

Thanks for the prayers we receive from all of you at home they really do help here is proof!!

What a great way to start your 58th year!!!! The calls and gift from home was the highlight of his day. The Missionaries and friends here made it easier to be away from home. The first picture is Dad with a new tie that the Elders bought. They wrapped it in a Christmas stocking. It is a sharp tie, they know ties.The Missionaries suprised him by singing Happy Birthday in Portuguese.
That included the missionaries who speak English, Chinese, Spanish and yes me too. After the suprise and song there was a group hug!!! Elders only.

The girls that live upstairs (Selenne, Karla, Emily and Kelly) decorated the apartment and sang Happy Birthday in spanish loudly at 5:50 am before they left for seminary and work. It is nice to be loved by family and friends!!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving in the Mission field was a bit different. For one it wasn't even a Holiday in Canada , but the 18 of us from the USA made it a holiday here. We all have so much to be thankful for especially for the families at home supporting us. We love you all and miss you tons.

Of course the Dad had to carve the turkey, both of them. We consumed 36 lbs of turkey and 20 lbs of potatoes. Fifteen Elders with bottomless pits, and 7 Sisters that enjoyed home cooking without a spanish flare. We had a great day hope yours was great too.

Dance Competition

Last Saturday, Addi was in a dance competition at Century High School. She did so good and had a ton of fun. Her "Hip Hop" dance received an Excellent and her "Bunny Dance" received Overall Champion. They got a huge trophy to put in the studio and Addi got her own individual trophy.

Wow has Kellen grown, and we were so glad to see both he and Debra. Thanks Neil for helping them get to Canada. We had the greatest time loving on the both of them. We also got in a little sight seeing and missionary work. The first full day they were here we had a teaching appointment with a Brazilian lady. Kellen gave the entire apartment a new smell and it wasn't roses. Everyone smiled as Debra, Kellen and I went to the car for a diaper change.

We bundled up on Friday and went to the Zoo it was so beautiful with all the trees in their fall colors.

Debra had to come clear to Canada to make it to Boo at the Zoo. Next year we will all go except it will be in Idaho

We took the boys to a pumpkin patch in IF this week and let them pick a pumpkin. Hunters only comment was "Grandma says we have to be able to carry it to keep it!" and he made sure he could find the biggest one and still carry it to the car. We love you Grandma :)

Carson and Hunter both played Flag football this year. They were both on the Broncos which made there dad very proud. :) I was really good to get some pictures of Carsons game but missed all of Hunters im not sure that happened but they loved it and had a great time. Olympic Games in Toronto

Sister Adams organized Olympic games for our ESL classes. It was a lot of fun. We had swimming competion(marshmellows being blown with straws), Javelen throw(licorice),and shot put(marshmellows), and a knowledge relay. Everyone had a lot of fun. We made gold medals out of cremefilled cookies(this was church rules so everyone recieved gold. If you remember who organized you'll understand that). A few people stared eating thier metals. We had a great time. I even got a wave going in the crowd.

I told jason I may get to attached to these animals for him to hunt them. It is awsome to see wild life up close and personal.

There was lots of waiting involved for all the blue eyes.

Hunting Season is just around the corner and

We have a really nice neighbor down on the river

that has given them permission to hunt on his land.

The best part is the property is 5 min for our house.

Jason bought a new tree stand that can hold

all my boys at once and a trail cam.

The first night the camera was up it caught

Crazy lamb

Brody and Coby's 4-H season is coming to an end (thank goodness). The 4-H fair is Monday the 4th of August. The only problem is Coby's lamb has lost it's mind it may look harmless but it likes to headbutt and crash into ceilings and walls with its head. You would think it was a ram but no its a ewe. A ewe with an attitude. We are hoping for the best (that Coby can hang on). Pray for him!

Addi got her ears pierced on Saturday. She was such a big girl. She held really still and didn't even cry. After the lady was done she turned to me and said "mom that hurt" and that was it. Then she showed everyone that we came in contact with. She really likes them.

Brody, Coby and Trey just finished their first year in horse 4-H with 4 blue ribbons and 1 red.

We are so proud of how hard they worked cleaning and riding their horses.

The boys gained a lot of confidence this year and hope to compete in the fair with their horses next year. Brody rode Storm a 5 year old mare that Davey broke for us. Coby rode snake a 28 year old gelding. Treyton rode Dusty (Grandpa Young's Horse) a 3 year old gelding.

Our Thursday didn't start out to well when a pick-up pulling a trailer turn a corner to fast and plowed into us. He couldn't get stopped and he was bilingual, speaking with his mouth and his hands. We were just stunned and a bit depressed, yet we were ok all is working out well.

This is the tow truck driver and yes he did speak Portuguese and we did give him a pass along card!

the other driver had of, but the insurance
has covered well and it will be fix like new this Monday.

We Love our New Tree House(tree stand)

The boys helped Jason cut down the dead tree out back (mostly because he promised to build them a tree house). It have been a lot of hard work by the boys thought it was all play.

Brody calls it his tree stand because their favorite thing to do is shoot their bows from it.

The tree house is about 12 feet of the ground but it feels higher than it looks.

I climbed up before the sides were up an couldn't get down.

(Don't worry Jenny was there to laugh at me!)

Shayne and I ended up starting it with lighter fluid instead.

We had a wonderful time. Rain, laughs, memoris and lots of mud.

We are all learning lots and best of all the horses are getting riden.

Brody and Coby are also in Lamb 4-H .

Both were lucky enough to get blue suffocks this year (they will stay black). They are both ewes.

What do you think? A tough judge! Zone conference this transfer they had a court scene with the audience as the jury. The topic was "Can man become like God". You probably guessed that Dad was the Judge. He did a great job, when he walked in all the missionaries cracked up. I was the bailiff, a one liner. The other missionaries were witnesses, President Callister and Sister Callister were the Prosecution and the Defense. The script was excellent.

Mothers Day wasn't the same without all of you, but the Elders made it special by cooking dinner and bringing me flowers. Elder Rawson is the tallest , he is from Kaysville. Next is Elder Bolster he is from Texas. Standing next to me is Elder Dester he is from Utah also, south of SLC. They are the only Portuguese missionaries except Dad and I so we work together a lot. It is a good thing we like them!!

Just as an update to all of you tattletales (Jenny and Becky) and Mom, I spoke with the ENT at my work and he looked at my ears and yes I have fluid behind my right eardrum and it is bulging slightly (that is why my ear bubbles and I can't hear much). It is not currently infected and he thinks that the fluid will absorb itself and wants me to try and pop me ears everyday, if that doesn't work we will talk about it then but he seemed confident that it wouldn't be a problem much longer. So even though it is all in my head, I'm not making it up :) Ha Ha do you get it?? Sometimes I am so funny. Love you all
